Funny enough the fist game in the The Legend Of Zelda series to be released by Nintendo was called "The Legend of Zelda". Over 20 Legend of Zelda games have been released by Nintendo. However, the first game released was not the first of the Legend of Zelda timeline. Skyward Sword which was released in 2011 for the Wii is actually the first game of the story line and the first to be released falls near the end of the story line.
I did not realized there were so many Zelda games. This is so crazy. I am even more surprised that nintendo is releasing the first game in the Zelda timeline. Thanks for the insight.
